strong language and some suggestive references

Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are all back to this sequel to the 2008 smash hit The Devil Wears Prada, and that’s really all you need to know. Oh, alright, here’s a little more detail: Andy Sachs (Hathaway) returns to Runway as the Features Editor in order to help guide the magazine through the trials and tribulations of new media and scandal. Miranda Priestly (Streep) is her iconic, beastly self, and Nigel Kipling (Tucci) is his iconic, sweet self, and all three of them need help from Emily Charlton (Blunt) who is now an executive at Dior. Expect more snappy dialogue, Priestly behaving badly, and some really heartfelt moments (David Frankel and Aline Brosh McKenna return as director and writer).

“It’s bigger, better and it resonates with the cultural zeitgeist while maintaining the spirit, style and wit of the original. Like Andy, the sequel is older, and wiser.” -Katie Walsh, Tribune News Service
“Witty barbs, fabulous fashion, a touch of romance, some big name cameos, top performances, and a surprise superstar; it’s thoughtful enough to have some meaning but light enough to be entertaining, as imperishably classic as a little black dress.” – Nell Minow, Movie Mom
“This deliciously funny fluff of a film is wrapped around a passionate, surprisingly affecting cry for the integrity of traditional journalism.” -Nikki Gemmell, The Australian
The Devil Wears Prada 2 isn’t a happy accident; it’s a vital reminder of the immense value of human art and creativity, exemplified by this movie’s prudence.” -Coleman Spilde, Salon.com
“Even when the sequel loses momentum, and it does like to repeat itself, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are comic virtuosos not to be resisted. That’s all.” -Peter Travers, The Travers Take
“This sparkly sequel provides a satisfying balance between nostalgic callbacks and intelligent updates to suit a more contemporary, if sadder, media landscape.” -Dana Stevens, Slate
“A sequel that serves its characters with a fresh story instead of relying solely on the tropes of its predecessor.” -Beth Webb, Empire Magazine
“[Frankel] wisely gives his four main performers plenty of room to show off their comic timing; they’re clearly enjoying themselves, which heightens the pleasure of watching talented actors getting their collective groove on.” -Manohla Dargis, New York Times
