The Mandalorian & Grogu

May 22-25 & May 29-June 1 | Friday-Monday twice | 2 hours, 12 minutes | Rated PG-13 |

sci-fi action and violence

Grogu (Baby Yoda) may be the cutest thing in Star Wars since… well, ever. But the streaming show The Mandalorian also reminded us that Star Wars can be good, especially when it goes back to one of its roots as a Space Western (and fantasy story and war movie). Now we get to see director Jon Favreau bring the excitement and fun to the big screen, with Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, and more bringing his story to life.

“It’s a scrappy, creature-filled adventure movie about a weary warrior and his tiny adopted son stumbling into danger after danger. It may not reinvent the franchise, but it reminds you why you fell in love with that world in the first place.” -Linda Marric, HeyUGuys
“There’s no shortage of Star Wars–level wow factor, from the slimy beasts to the outer-space dogfights to Ludwig Göransson’s score.” -Alonso Duralde, The Film Verdict
“It’s an enjoyable throwback romp with plenty of action and weird creatures” -Brian Truitt, USA Today
“It’s a deft and enjoyable blockbuster, easily the most purely entertaining ‘Star Wars’ movie since the 1980s” -William Bibbiani, The Wrap
“A swashbuckling space Western that deftly marries combative spectacle and kid-friendly cuteness.” -Nick Schager, The Daily Beast

The Mandalorian & Grogu launches into The Clyde on Friday, May 22, and play Friday, Saturday, Sunday, & Monday at 7:30 for two weeks.

Saw all the original Star Wars and Galaxy films but – This is all new to me- and I must say I am excited about this and have looked into how this all started. Thanks for the introduction.

I just can’t make out what the actors are saying anymore when I go to a movie. The hearing aids I need cost $4600, and the devices that theaters have don’t help me because the volume is fine, but when Meryl Streep starts to mumble, you know you’re in trouble. Are you going to have any closed caption shows? Hopefully on Sunday afternoons for the 4 PM showings? I think your audiences might double.

    • We actually have several options! Our Sunday shows (7:30pm during late Spring, Summer, and early Fall and 2:00pm late Fall, Winter, and Early Spring) usually have captions turned on, and we also have caption readers available. These are goose-necked screens that stand up in the cup holder and provide captions just below the level of the screen. Check with the host to have them help set you up with a caption reader.
