July 3-6 & 10-13 | Friday-Monday twice | 1 hour, 42 minutes | Rated PG |
You know most of the crew by now: Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and everyone else, but there’s a new force in town: a tablet called Lilypad. As Bonnie gets sucked into the online world and deals with the sting of rejection and the burn of social anxiety, the toys have to help her through these moments—and worry about if this new technology is going to be the end for them. There are jokes about the age of the toys (especially since the kids of the kids who saw the first movie in theaters are old enough to watch the movie), about screens and tablets, and some serious issues as well. It currently has a 92% Tomatometer (critics) and a 95% Popcornmeter (audiences) on Rotten Tomatoes.

“You’ve still got a friend in Toy Story, and this friendship may just last forever. Wouldn’t that be nice?” -Sara Michelle Fetters, MovieFreak.com
“This group of toys still has some play left in them, and some lessons to impart, so for a moment, tuck those screens away and enjoy another romp with Jessie, Woody and Buzz.” -Katie Walsh, Tribune News Service

“The ways in which Toy Story 5 manages to both unfurl a wild comic adventure at the same time as it explores the complex tensions of modern childhood represent a remarkable balancing act of cinema and commerce.” -Barry Hertz, Globe and Mail
“It’s a sublime summing up, a movie that reflects the whole series in its magic mirror, and (just maybe) a perfect ending.” -Owen Gleiberman, Variety
