Who Will Get a Little Gold Man?

The 2019 Oscar Nominations are out, and while there are some surprises both good and bad (Black Panther was actually nominated for Best Picture — you can decide if you think that’s good or bad, I’m going with very good), a lot of the nominations were totally expected (Glenn Close for Best Actress in The Wife, Christian Bale for Best Actor in Vice, Spike Lee for Best Director for BlacKkKlansman).

Here at The Clyde, we’ve shown or are planning to show all or almost-all of the movies nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Director (we’re still looking at RomaCold War, and If Beale Street Could Talk). This week’s Shoplifters is nominated for Best Foreign Language film, and this weekend’s The Favourite had all three of its actresses nominated: Olivia Colman for Best Leading Actress and Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone for Best Supporting Actress.

You can see the full list of nominated films here.

Hello! I’ve talked to many people who were sad to have missed Biggest Little Farm. Do plan to bring it back someday soon, I hope. I hope. I hope!
