Retro Weekend April 27-30 with The Machine Shop and Sprinklz

When Ready Player One comes to The Clyde April 27-30, we’re going back to the ’80s (and ’90s) with a Retro Weekend.

Celebrate your nostalgia all weekend with delicious treats at Sprinklz; awesome pinball, arcade, and virtual reality action at The Machine Shop; and a fun adventure movie at The Clyde. We’ll be having Retro Night on Sunday at The Clyde: come in your favorite retro clothing (whatever decade that means to you). And if you bring a Clyde Theatre ticket stub from Ready Player One to The Machine Shop during the weekend, you’ll have an opportunity to win for special prizes.

We love the Clyde! Could you try and have more movies for tween to teens? There isnt much for them to do on the south end (especially in winter). It seems most the movies are directed for adults. The kids have early release Wed. Middle and high school is released at 1pm, elementary school out at 2pm. It would be great if there was more family movies. A movue for all audiences every couple weeks would be great! We check the schedule every month. Also they half half days so often and are out of school on holidays and breaks. Its hard to get off island or up north just to see a movie when there is a theatre right in Langley.

    • That’s an interesting idea, Shila. We’ll certainly look into it. Unfortunately, there are a very limited number of quality movies for kids and families available. We definitely try to bring them all, and keep an eye out for when the schools are on break to try and bring more family-appropriate movies then. This break will hopefully be the new Harry Potter movie and The Grinch (although we’re still working on booking them, so they aren’t locked in yet).
