ThrivingFest is a three-day celebration of community organizations and efforts that are giving back to the people of South Whidbey. Saturday and Sunday will be hosted at WICA, and Thursday will start at The Clyde and transition up to Fellowship Hall at Langley United Methodist Church.
ThrivingFest honors the founders, visionaries, and committed folks who helped pivotal organizations take root — and brings together the leaders, volunteers, and neighbors across the island who are ready to cultivate what grows next. The Thursday evening event will highlight the emerging work of South Whidbey Prepares, and the ongoing work of organizations started by The Clyde’s own Lynn Willeford. It will include Lynn’s talk “South Whidbey as a Living Laboratory,” and the Rural Characters’ song “Along Came Lynn.” After the show at The Clyde, there will be an opportunity to meet at Fellowship Hall over food to share memories of and experiences with Lynn and the organizations she started (South Whidbey Free University, SW Community Co-op, the Back to School Program, Hearts & Hammers, Friends of Friends, Whidbey Island Local Lending, Women of Whidbey, and South Whidbey @ Home).
Each night of ThrivingFest is free to all who want to participate, but please RSVP so that they can prepare for the necessary numbers (and to save a seat).
