Hadestown: The Musical

The winner of 8 Tony awards, Hadestown tells the story both of Orpheus and Eurydice and of Hades and Persephone, merging both myths into a single story about love, hard choices, hope, forging a better way, and collective bargaining (yes, you read that right). This film version was recorded with a live audience that is as caught up in the moment as the movie theatre audience will be. It features folk music, jazz, and power dynamics amidst two of the classic love stories of the Greek mythos. It currently has a 97% Tomatometer (critics) and a 98% Popcornmeter (audiences) on Rotten Tomatoes.
