The Wild Robot

October 18-21 | Friday-Monday | 1 hour, 42 minutes | Rated PG |

action/peril and thematic elements

When a robot is marooned on a island, it awakens and moves to explore the wilderness around it. As it begins to translate the language of the animals it encounters, a young gosling imprints on it, and the robot makes the decision to help the young bird. As weather, battery power, and a robot recovery unit threaten the peace the robot has found on the island, it has to go beyond its programming and lean on the community of animals it has forged to prosper. The voice cast is simply amazing, with Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Bill Nighy, Catherine O’Hara, Stephanie Hsu, Mark Hamill, and more. It’s currently at 98% on the Tomatometer (critics reviews) and 98% on the Popcornmeter (audience reviews) on Rotten Tomatoes.
