Paddington in Peru

February 28-March 3 | Friday-Monday | 1 hour, 46 minutes | Rated PG |

action, mild rude humor, and some thematic elements

This third adventure of the earnest, loveable bear in a human world is sweet and fun, just like the first two, even as it takes Paddington out of mannered England and back into the jungles of Peru. When he receives a note stating that his aunt has disappeared into the jungle, Paddington’s whole family takes off for Peru to find her. There’s lots of good-natured bumbling, lots of sweet family moments, some bits that are worthy of Indiana Jones, and a great cast including Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Olivia Coleman, Antonio Banderas, Hugh Bonneville, and many more. It currently has a 93% Tomatometer and a 91% Popcornmeter on Rotten Tomatoes.

“Like the others, this latest entry in the Paddington saga is visually enchanting, charmingly funny, surprisingly wise, and genuinely heartwarming. I admit I teared up near the end.” -Nell Minow, Movie Mom
“It’s this unembellished emotional simplicity that makes the continued tales of Paddington so wonderful. It is also what makes them essential.” -Sarah Michelle Fetters, MovieFreak.com
Paddington in Peru is a satisfying sequel, delivering what fans would hope for in terms of laughs, action, whimsy, and — well — hope.” -Kristy Puchko, Mashable
“The performances are admirably committed, the scenario likably loony, and the jokes come in swift succession. Paddington in Peru also probes, with an earnest and childlike sincerity, the feelings of home and dislocation hinted at in its title.” -Zachary Barnes, Wall Street Journal
“With wit, wonder, warmth, and a few wink-wink nods to the Indiana Jones movies, it’s further evidence of this franchise’s cute and cuddly preeminence.” -Nick Schager, The Daily Beast
“A wonderfully fun adventure with all the warmth, humour, and heart fans of this beloved franchise have come to adore. With just the right blend of humour and heartfelt moments, Paddington in Peru is a joyful adventure and a must-see for fans old and new!” -Linda Marric, HeyUGuys
Paddington in Peru, the third film in the franchise that’s rapidly becoming my favorite cinematic universe, doesn’t quite reach the levels of lovable lunacy reached by Paddington 2, but it’s a joy all the same.” -Moira MacDonald, The Seattle Times

Paddington in Peru opens at The Clyde on Friday, February 28, and plays Friday, Saturday, & Monday at 7:30, plus Sunday at 2:00.
