Probably April 4-7 | Friday-Monday | 2 hours, 17 minutes | Rated R |
Mickey (Robert Pattinson) needed to get off Earth so badly that he signed up for an interstellar mission without reading the fine print. And that is how Mickey ended up as an Expendable, a living test dummy sent out ahead of other humans, and then cloned when he invariably gets killed by being a living test dummy. When they arrive at their destination planet, the local wildlife causes almost as many problems as there accidentally being two Mickeys cloned at once. With it’s blithely horrifying rich folks (led by Mark Ruffalo and Toni Collette), it’s a biting satire of extreme capitalism, and with Robert Pattinson’s brilliant performance, it’s a hilarious physical comedy too.
