KPop Demon Hunters

August 23 & 24 | Saturday & Sunday | 1 hour, 35 minutes | Rated PG |

action/violence, scary images, thematic elements, some suggestive material, and brief language

I don’t even know where to start with this one. If you don’t know about it yet, you should. It’s a gorgeously lush animated story about a Korean Pop girl-band that is also demon hunters, and not only does the story work to a T, the music is so infections that every member of the Willeford family has gotten onboard (yes, even Blake!). In addition to songs that you’ll be singing for days, weeks, months to come, it has a fantastic story about understanding and accepting yourself for who you are, amazing action scenes, and beautiful world design. Even if you don’t like K-Pop, or have no idea what it is, this is still a great film. It currently has a 97% Tomatometer and 92% Popcornmeter on Rotten Tomatoes, and the only way I can imagine that the Popcornmeter is that low is because of absolute grumps.

This will be a Sing-Along event, but the music is so good that it won’t matter if the people around you can’t hit the shockingly-beautiful notes that they glide into onscreen.
