Greedy People

September 13-16 | Friday-Monday | 1 hour, 52 minutes | Rated R |

violence, language throughout, and sexual content

A rookie cop (Himesh Patel) and a near-terminally-unambitious veteran (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) looking for a lazy day patrolling sleepy Providence, South Carolina, instead find themselves with a dead body and a large cache of cash on their hands. What follows next could easily be mistaken for a Coen Brothers caper, as the two actors play off one another brilliantly as their characters both incompetently try to cover up the death and abscond with the money (just like everyone around them is trying to do too).

“The chemistry between Himesh Patel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a riot; neither officer is remarkably competent, but their clashing personalities consistently elicit laughs” -Robert Kojder, Flickering Myth
“For those who need to scratch that old-school Coen Brothers itch, this is your best bet of the summer.” -Travis Hopson, Punch Drunk Critics
“Gordon-Levitt’s electrifying buffoonery is an easy highlight of the ensemble crime comedy. He steals the show as crass and dim-witted cop Terry, whose corruption can’t overcome his utter lack of ambition.” -Christian Zilko, indieWire
“This is one of the few recent films I’ve seen that actually surprised me at least a half dozen times. This unique comedic crime thriller starts off deceptively sunny and quirky, only to plunge into much darker territory as it unfolds.” -Louise Moore, Screen Zealots
“Greedy People features wickedly good performances and delivers a savagely amusing ride.” -M.N. Miller, FandomWire
“A refreshingly witty, funny and uninspired dark comedy with a fine ensemble” -Avi Offer, NYC Movie Guru
“Even with all its familiarity, Greedy People, which delights in piling up the bodies in near-slapstick fashion, does deliver a satisfying payoff as it were, no more — but no less — than a good summertime diversion at the movies.” -Pete Hammond, Deadline Hollywood Daily

Greedy People opens at The Clyde Friday, September 13, and plays Friday, Saturday, Sunday, & Monday at 7:30.
