some spicy language

Returned local Jordan Albertsen’s documentary about the Tacoma band that influenced a generation of rock’n’roll is coming back to The Clyde! One night only, learn how The Sonics came together, how they rose from obscurity, and how they made it big. The documentary is beautifully put together with archival footage of concerts, interviews with members of the band, and interviews with musicians far beyond the punk scene who were influenced by The Sonics (including Pearl Jam, The Sex Pistols, Heart, Mudhoney, and more).

“The spirit of BOOM is as righteous and undeniable as Gerry Roslie’s howl.” -Dave Segal, The Stranger
“A stylish documentary film that contains incredible footage found, given, and offered along with photography, archival imagery, music recordings, and in-depth interviews, revealing the expanse and lives that The Sonics touched with its iconic sound.” -Sabina Dana Plasse, Film Threat
“A beautiful and resonating film, one of the best music documentaries I’ve seen. This is in large part because of the way in which filmmaker Jordan Albertsen chooses to tell this story.” -Kim Voynar, Hammer to Nail

BOOM: A Film About the Sonics is back at The Clyde due to popular demand Thursday, July 10, at 7:30.
