A Nice Indian Boy

May 16-19 | Friday-Monday | 1 hour, 36 minutes | Rated Unrated |

Naveen’s parents have accepted that he’s gay, but have given up hope of him ever finding a nice Indian boy to settle down with. And then Naveen meets Jay Karundkar, and begin to have hope again. The only problem is that Jay is played by Jonathan Groff (Olaf from Frozen and King George from Hamilton) — he’s definitely white, although he was raised by adoptive Indian parents. It’s a sweet rom-com about enjoying family and love where you find it, about fitting in (or not), and about experiencing the hugeness and wonderfulness of life. It’s definitely not going to solve all of the woes of the world, but it’s a tonic for toxicity, at least for a little while. It also currently has a 96% Tomatometer and a 97% Popcornmeter on Rotten Tomatoes.
