I always love it when we’re able to bring someone I know to The Clyde, and so it’s with great pleasure that I can announce that Erin McKittrick and Hig Higman, fellow Carleton alums and aikido practitioners (they’re much better than I ever was), will be here for a Films & Filmmakers event Thursday, September 28 at 7:30.
We’ll be showing Journey on the Wild Coast, a documentary about their 4,000-mile walking, paddling, and skiing journey from Seattle to the Aleutian islands, and they’ll be on hand to talk about the experience, about hiking through the Alaskan wilderness with small children, and about their Ground Truth Trekking project. They’ll also answer your questions like “why,” “no, really, why,” and “isn’t that dangerous.” It should be a great time, and I’m really looking forward to hearing what they have to say first-hand about the experience.
The film runs 1 hour and 30 minutes, the doors open at 7:00 on Thursday, September 28, and admission is the standard $7 for adults and $5 for those under 17 or 65 and over.
Shoot! I am just seeing this and it has long since happened. Is there any way to still see this movie? Do they have it available online? I wish I had made it to this event.
There are a couple of ways to see it online, all of which are linked from Hig and Erin’s page: http://www.groundtruthtrekking.org/Movie/
