How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Opening Weekend

When we show a movie for a week or more, people often avoid opening weekend, worried that it will be over-crowded. In fact, enough people tend to do this that the opening weekend is often the least crowded time to see the movie. So if you want to see Wonder Woman, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, or more recently Dunkirk as soon as possible, you should totally just go for it. It’s not likely to be any busier than any other night, and it might even be lighter, giving you a better chance to get “your” seat.
The same goes for the Friday nights that used to be crowded with middle schoolers (at least back when I was in middle school and high school). That’s calmed down quite a lot in the last ten (or twenty) years, so you can usually safely come Friday too without the candy line being totally clobbered by clusters of students.
So here’s to seeing all of those looking to see the big blockbusters as soon as possible on opening weekend at The Clyde.
I want to say that I value the Clyde Theater. It is so much a part of what helps me feel that I’m in a loving and caring community. Because the Clyde feels like that for me I love to give Movie Passes and snack bar passes as gifts anytime and especially at Christmas. I encourage other members of this island community to do the same.
Blessings and happy holidays.
Will you be showing Napoleon?
We’ve already shown it in early December.
