Their Finest

May 19, 20, 21 & 22 | Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday | 1 hour, 57 minutes | Rated R |

some language and a scene of sexuality

Hollywood loves a film about the movie business, and when it’s as funny and poignant as this one, so do we. Gemma Arterton plays Catrin, who is hired on by the British Ministry of Information to write women’s dialogue in their propaganda films. Bill Nighy is on point as Ambrose, a vain actor rapidly aging out of “leading man” territory but still trying to sink his teeth into a meaty part. And Sam Claflin does yeoman’s work as Tom, the head scriptwriter for the Dunkirk-based film they’re working on who recognizes Catrin’s skill. There is drama and laughter alike, especially in that archetypically dry British sense.

Their Finest opens Friday, April 19, and plays Friday at 7:30, Saturday & Sunday at 5:00 & 7:30, and Monday at 7:30.
