The Hero

July 25, 26 & 27 | Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday | 1 hour, 33 minutes | Rated R |

drug use, language, and some sexual content

The lead role in The Hero was written expressly for Sam Elliot, and he — predictably — rules it. As the Western star of a generation ago, Elliot’s Lee Hayden is drifting through life with fond memories of parts past when a surprise cancer diagnosis gives him a reason to try to change. Between trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter (Jessica Jones‘s Krystin Ritter), starting up a relationship with a stand-up comic (Laura Prepon), and searching for a new role with his weed dealer/former co-star (Nick Offerman), he looks for some way to cement his legacy beyond a single role decades ago.

The Hero opens Tuesday, July 25, and plays at 7:30 Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.
