January 18, 19, 20 & 21 | Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday | 2 hours, 10 minutes | Rated PG |
It won’t take a spoonful of sugar to make this one go down. Emily Blunt is fantastic as the titular nanny, returning to help the (now-adult) Banks children (and Michael’s children as well) in their hour of need. Lin-Manuel Miranda adds his songwriting talents and his on-screen charm, with Emily Mortimer, Ben Whishaw, Colin Firth, and Meryl Streep all joining in. Even Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke make cameos. It’s the singing, dancing, loving spectacular that will charm families and inspire surges of nostalgia in those who loved the original.
Mary Poppins Returns opens Friday, January 18, and plays at 1:00 & 7:30 Friday, 4:30 & 7:30 Saturday & Sunday, and 7:30 Monday (the early shows on Saturday & Sunday are a half-hour earlier than usual due to the length of the movie).
