Darkest Hour

February 23, 24, 25 & 26 | Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday | 2 hours, 5 minutes | Rated PG-13 |

some thematic violence

Gary Oldman is an Oscar frontrunner for his role as Winston Churchill in this story of the early days of the Second World War, when Germany stood ascendant and Great Britain had to decide whether to fight or make a deal. The movie itself is solid, but Oldman’s performance is transcendent, with the veteran actor disappearing into the role seamlessly and completely. Darkest Hour is nominated for 6 Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Makeup, Best Costumes, and Best Production Design.

Darkest Hour opens Friday, February 23, and plays at 1:00 & 7:30 Friday, 4:45 & 7:30 Saturday & Sunday, and 7:30 Monday (The early shows on Saturday & Sunday are at 4:45 due to the length of the movie).
