A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

February 18, 19 & 20 | Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday | 1 hour, 49 minutes | Rated PG |

some strong thematic material, a brief fight, and some mild language

Tom Hanks returns to The Clyde as Fred Rogers, the heart and soul of this biopic about a new father on assignment to interview the amazing human being and host of Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. It’s only supposed to be a puff piece for an issue on heroes, but the interview changes to the journalist’s life, and becomes a magnum opus. It’s a beautiful story based on real life events, and it’s done exceptionally well. It’s great for those nostalgic for a time when children’s entertainment was kind, and not just an advertisement for a toy, but it’s also great for those who knew little about the cultural icon. Tom Hanks was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for this role, and was very deserving of the nomination. The film is currently rated 95% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, has a 92% Audience Score, and did wonderfully the first time we showed it.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood starts its second run here Tuesday, February 18, and plays at 7:30 Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.
